Please help!! For the past 5 or more months I've had a range of seemingly random symptoms that have become worse and more frequent to the point I feel ill a lot of the time. I've been to the Dr's numerous times but no cause found as yet. Just wondered if anyone had experienced similar, had advice or know what it could be?? Getting a bit fed up now!
Initially I was told it was due to a water infection but this cleared up and the symptoms did not. I've had a blood test, swabs, exams, a scan of womb n ovaries, a biopsy after smear and all clear. The only thing they have found is a small cyst on one ovary but they think it's too small to be causing anything atm. The last idea they have is bowel muscle problem which I am very doubtful is the cause.
My symptoms are bleeding sometimes after sex and can have stomach pain during and after. Tiredness (beyond normal mum tiredness lol), lower stomach and pelvic pain, lower back pain, mild pain in stomach when going to toilet (both ways) but not always, stomach tender to press on in some places, and seem to have bouts of upset stomach every few weeks. Also had a random dizzy spell over a weekend (talking hugging the walls dizzy) didn't know if that was separate or related but thought I'd throw it in! Just wanted to see if anyone else experienced this? Or if related to having a baby....All be it going on for 2 years ago now? Thanks

Have you had a full scan of colon, abdomen etc, not just of womb/ovaries? A colonoscopy or flexi-sigmoidoscopy. Just thinking about irritable bowel disease or other colon and stomach illnesses...

Thank you for replying. No I haven't. They've only scanned womb n ovaries atm like you say. I think looking at bowels maybe next step but I didn't think that ibs could affect you in such ways tbh?

Tender sore stomach, lower abdomen, pelvis area, lower back - yes, this can be a whole range of bowel issues including a whole range of diseases under the "irritable bowel disease" umbrella eg Crohns, diverticulosis, colitis - all treatable. You also want to rule out cancer (sorry, don't want to be alarmist but it needs to be on your radar as it too is very treatable and curable if caught early).

Ok good to know. Thank you. My sister is actually being tested for Crohns atm.

This is completely wrong.

It sounds like your Doctor is investigating you appropriately.

Colonoscopies are not risk free procedures. Neither are scans especially those of your abdomen.

I would recommend continuing to see your GP and see what emerges.

Definitely push (no pun intended) for colonoscopy. These symptoms have been going on for far too long and your doctor needs to up the ante and find out what's causing this.

Thank you. I'm just fed up of going back and nothing being done/found. I've decided one last try. I'm getting scan results officially next week so I will discuss and 'push' again then. If nothing comes after that I'm not going again! ??
