I know there are some thyroid experts on here and I'd appreciate some input please.
A while ago, I had an ultrasound scan for a visible lump in my throat which was found to be an enlarged thyroid. No nodules or anything nasty looking fortunately. I had some thyroid blood tests which were normal. I pushed for a private endrocrinologist referral who repeated the lot and also checked thyroid antibodies which were negative. I was expecting something because I have systemic autoimmune disease, so I assumed I was having thyroid issues. My insurance only covered basic testing and because it showed nothing, so I didn't pursue it further.
Months later, I am fatigued, my hair is falling out and I feel like crap. Now, my existing health and my current medications could be to blame. Yet, my thyroid gland remains really rather large and uncomfortable. I can't help but wonder.
Any advice or suggestions would be great, thank you.
