Prolapse Surgery

AJH12 · 19/03/2015 18:54

After the birth of my baby last summer I suffered a prolapse - rectocele and cystocele which has basically meant that I can't walk or stand without a lot of discomfort.

I've been going to a physio, doing my pelvic floor exercises in the hope that it would improve but I'm getting to the stage where I need to start considering surgery - I'm so fed up with not being able to live properly.

I know it's really important to get a good surgeon so I just wondered if anyone could recommend a surgeon who has excellent results in or near London?

Have a look at the Tatler list (online) of 250 consultants and look at urogynaes. I can't remember the names off hand but there is at least one who is thought to be the bees' knees- he's male.

I'll have a look and see if it jogs my memory.

I'm sure other people will come along.

Ah. I came onto the thread as I might need this (scared to go back to the doctor currently!) But we wont be in a position to actually choose the surgeon!!

Thanks pinkfrocks and agood book for the suggestions - I haven't been onto the Facebook group yet as don't want my Facebook friends to know about it - but maybe I can create a new Facebook profile.

Is there anyone with personal experience of a good surgeon?

AH12 - its a private 'closed' group - I am on it, and no one knows ( apart from the ones I tell in RL ) . There is lots of support, questions, and info

There is a whole thread on this forum about all kinds of prolapse and surgery- have a look and maybe others there can help you.
