I'd agree with you, twiglett. Sounds like slapped cheek to me. I hate locum doctors. Why do they always come out with trite "coverall" diagnoses? I'm surprised he/she didn't diagnose a virus

A locum doc diagnosed heat rash for ds2 when he was 7 months old. It was eczema all over his body due to being allergic to wheat! He looked like a burnt lizard.

Having said that, it was a locum who finally diagnosed dd1 as having whooping cough, after seeing 5 docs before, and me saying to dh she had it. He was only able to say it was, because he had worked in countries where it was v common. Most docs here don't come into contact with it apparently.

I'd take him back twiglett, or do you have a walk in clinic near?

GeorginaA · 26/04/2004 19:30

Take him right back tomorrow twiglett, and try and aim for a morning appt so they can take bloods from you to check you have the antibodies (just for your own piece of mind type thing).

Agree with Georgina, I would definitely get yourself checked. I know you're late on, but I think they might well want to monitor you if you have seroconverted.

Ooops, sorry twiglett It means not just that you have antibodies now, but that they have newly arrived, as it were. When it happened to me they checked my bloods from when I'd booked in to the mat. hospital for antibodies (negative) and then after ds had slapped cheek (positive). If they just checked your blood now you would almost certainly have antibodies, but it wouldn't mean that you had only just been exposed. Hope your ds gets better soon, and that everything's fine for you.
