My hand went Ping!

The other day when I grabbed a child's coat to prevent a fall, something went Ping.
I can not straighten my ring finger or bend my little finger. It's not painful but my hand is swollen under these two fingers.

Will it heal up, should I see a doctor, maybe just put it in a splint?

I just know if I go to A&E I will be there forever as it is a minor injury and the staff will rightly prioritise more serious claims on their time and resources.

I don't know if this is important, I have arthritis and always have VERY cold hands.

The only upside is I look vair posh as I sip my tea, with pinkie extended!

Sounds like you may have ruptured a tendon - is it RA you have?

Get it checked out.

Something similar happened to the hairdresser I saw, yesterday. He left it for a few days, as he's like you (and me) and often has sore hands from one thing or another, but it got worse, not better. He went to A&E, where it was x-rayed and there was a hairline crack in one of his fingers.

So you might have done similar, or you might have damaged a ligament.

Dh got mallet finger from moving the dogs head Confused His finger drooped and couldn't be straightened, it was a torn tendon and he had to wear a splint for weeks.

I told DW I would listen to you lot, know I have to Go Do Something!

They will think I am dying if I go now as I am tear-stained and likely to sob because of TP's passing!

Can I wait until after work tomorrow?

Thank you all very much

CMOTDibbler no, not RA, osteoarthritis, though I have psoriasis too, just to add to the joy of nations.
