I've had a nasty bout of tonsillitis and was prescribed penicillin which I started taking on Tuesday evening. This afternoon DD asked what was wrong with my eye. It is red and bloodshot and itchy - just one side. A year or so ago, I was on antibiotics for sinusitis and I got a really sore eye - I thought I had something in it, but managed to scratch my cornea trying to get it out.
It has suddenly occurred to me that this might be an allergic reaction and it might have been the same thing last time. My eye is still sore - trying not to touch it, but my face also feels hot and my cheeks are red under my eyes.
Anyone have any thoughts? I guess it could be conjunctivitis but it feels like quite a coincidence. I do have other allergies and my DGM is allergic to penicillin. I think I'm going to miss tonight's dose and try and speak to a doctor in the morning. Had a really tough week, for this and other reasons, and feeling quite stressed by this on top of everything else.
