Weird toe pain

This is most odd. Yesterday lunchtime my left big toe started to hurt. I'd get a shooting pain go through it every 30 minutes or so. I didn't have look at it until the evening and it looked completely normal. I can bend it, walk on it, but if I touch the skin anywhere from the joint near the top of the big toe down to big bony joint on the foot, I get a shooting pain running along the length of it. I can barely touch it and I get the pain.

It is the same this morning. My foot also feels quite tingly, but I can move it, bend it etc.. It is simply a gentle touch that hurts it! Confused

Possibly Gout?

pigsinmud · 03/03/2015 08:33

I did come across that, but have no swelling or any other symptoms.

I had gout a few years ago & I didn't have any swelling at all. Very painful though.

Oh ok. My dad had it last year and he had inflammation and agonising pain. Mine doesn't seem to have changed since it first started.

rheumatoid arthritis?

pigsinmud · 04/03/2015 07:31

Odd. My foot was particularly tingly last night and there was a red streak on my toe that was sensitive to the lightest of touches. This morning.....completely better!

I had This many years ago and got shooting pains arond my big toe joint. I think it was partially linked to my footwear at the time. Luckily it went and never came back.

It took me ages to pluck up the courage to mention something so stupid sounding to the doctor and I was rather pleased that it was a Real Thing. Though not pleased with the pain, obviously. Smile

Glad it went and never came back! I felt daft when dc4 would touch my toe really gently and I would shout in pain!

Most likely gout and it can come and go. People have "attacks of gout."

I'd go to the dr to discuss even if it's gone. It will happen again.

Shooting and burning pain can be a symptom of nerve pain. Normal painkillers are usually ineffective. Go to the GP and get it checked out.

I am going to the GP next week - first time in years. I have a lot of niggles - very tired...felt like sitting down in the middle of the field with the dog, but instead I lay down when I got home and woke up 2.5 hours later. It's a type of tiredness I've not experienced before. With this I feel very lethargic and can't be bothered to do a lot of things.

I've been feeling breathless for about a month - walking up the stairs leaves me feeling slightly puffed.

Achey - my shoulders, my knees (my left has always been a pain anyway) and sometimes my hands. Yesterday the joints below my thumbs ached. My middle finger middle joint aches and the top joint if I push down on it!

My mood is quite low, but I'm wondering if that's just because I feel so tired.

There - just rehearsing my symptoms. I thought I might be anaemic, but decided I should really get it checked out.
