Period drama

Does anyone else suffer really badly with their periods. Mine seem to be getting worse as I am getting older. They have always been really heavy, pain ful and long (7 days) and regular (about every 26 days) and I often get ovulation pain and bleeding too.
However I now feel really sick, tired and dizzy right before my period is due (like as in hours before not days) and on the first day.
re their any natural remadies I can take to try and ease these symptoms? xx

This all sounds hideously familiar! I have recently been to GP and found out that I am anaemic so have iron tablets. She also advised the mirena coil or mini pill to hopefully lighten my periods. How old are you? I am 46 so expect this is perimenopause. Apparently can last 6 to 10 years. What fun!!

I would go to your GP and see what they say. We shouldn't just have to put up with this. I have also started Oil of Evening Primrose tablets as I remember they did help when I was younger.

Heavy and painful periods should always be checked out properly by a gynaecologist to ascertain the cause. Endometriosis for instance can cause such problems to arise. I suggest seeing a gynae rather than a GP as these types of issues are outside a GPs remit. GP should refer you.

Disregard natural remedies as they likely will not work out in the long run; find out why this is happening instead.
