I've spelt that worng i'm sure, but anyway.
I keep feeling very anxious. It usually happens when i'm getting stressed about something and i sit there wringing my hands and biting my nails. I have also become a bit nervous of going out without anyone. I'm o.k if i have my kids with me but if not, i feel very anxious and nervous.

If i've had a bad day with the housing probs and have been talking about it alot or ringing up trying to have a go at people i really feel unsettled then at night and i'm having trouble sleeping.
I keep meaning to go to the doctors about it but never get around to it.

Any opinions gratefully recieved.

No problems Kizzie. I did take anti-d's after my ds was born for about 6 months. They did help a bit but I must admit they stopped me sleeping so I had to take sleeping tablets
They just seemed to take the grey cloud feeling away.KPBx

Tammybear, which antidepressants did you take that were mild? I have had prozac but stopped because of the side effects and now try evry herbal remedy under the sun.
I found that valerina worked better than quiet life ( they are very similar)

ive had bad anxiety for about three years. ive tried many different tablets but i try not to rely on them to much. My anxiety is caused by depression. The mistake i once made was to start up the tablets again after being ok for months. very bad. i started having panick attacks straight away. It annoys me when people think its stupid because it is very very frightening. I still suffer with anxiety on and off and get terrible feelings of impending doom, worry about dying etc. I try to keep calm with breathing techniques which have helped quite a bit. I know it sounds stupid but yoga really helped me too.

The not being able to breathe properly sounds like a kind of panic attack...if you find its happening, first of all cup your hands around your mouth so that you're re-breathing the air you breathed out (I think it's something to do with needing LESS oxygen, although that sounds counter-intuitive because you feel like you can't breathe). Also try to be really aware of your surroundings -sounds, smells, tastes - to ground yourself. There's loads of good books etc for the basics on coping with anxiety (because about 1 in 3 people suffer from anxiety and panic attacks) I really agree with the advice on relaxation, building relaxation into your life and practising it regularly is the best way forward. Also, when you find yourself avoiding certain situations, bear in mind that this perpetuates the anxiety about the situation (you feel anxious, you decide not to go and that gets rid of the anxiety...until the next time, when you'll feel even more convinced that you shouldn't go because that worked last time - actually if you decide to do the anxiety-provoking thing, then your anxiety will increase, and it might be really scary, but after a little while the anxiety will peak and then begin to reduce. Then next time you're in that situation you won't feel as anxious. It honestly does work. Sorry this is a bit long but hope some of it helps

I'm not sure what this is and am hoping someone here can help me. I've always been one to sweat the small stuff, but recently, I've been feeling much worse.

A simple disagreement with a stranger on facebook can send me into a dark mood, with me worrying what they think. Reacting to someone cutting me up leaves me worrying they will follow me home and.... It's embarrassing. But, now these feelings of worry are affecting me daily and getting progressively worse, I need to acknowledge them and make it stop.

I'm constantly on edge, always think the absolute worst, no matter how absurd. Even writing this has been hard to do.

Please don't let me be alone.
