I have a lump under my breasts

Originally wasn't concerned due to its location, but since being advised to go to the docs, I called to make an appt. Well, the receptionist was adamant that she gets me in as soon as possible despite my protestations about its location. So I thought I would ask you guys if you have had any experience of this.

my lump is in the area that is in between and under my breasts. Kind of where the bottom of the middle of your bra strap lies. I can mostly feel it when in the shower (it is where I first noticed it) but it has grown and I can now feel it all the time (but I know where it is of course). I have had it for a few weeks now.

It is not huge, It is taller than it is wide and it moves up into the bottom of my right breast. It is not hard, nor overly soft and it doesn't hurt unless I have spent too long prodding it and it doesn't move about.

So, I have to admit, my anxiety has been tweeked a little because of the way I have been booked in to see a doctor so quickly (appts are like rocking horse shite around here) and due to a friends reaction when I told her. Please feel free to tell me to stop being daft Grin

I don't think you're daft at all, you're doing the sensible thing in getting it checked out. Probably will turn out to be nothing but if there is any doubt at all the GP will refer you to the breast clinic just because they might not be able to tell what it is unless you have a scan/ mammogram. Good luck

Chances are it will be nothing but you're doing the right thing in getting it checked out.

How did the appointment go? I could have written your OP myself so hope all ok

DrawingPlans · 06/03/2015 18:20

Had to cancel it as DH had to work and it clashed with the school run. I am going next Thursday now.

May I ask how your experience went please Murphy

I'm waiting on my appointment, changed doctor recently and appointments are really hard to come by. Hoping to get seen next week as I keep worrying about it and need to stay away from Dr. Google. Hope you get on ok.

DrawingPlans · 06/03/2015 18:45

Fingers crossed you get your appointment soon. Until then, we can be odd lump buddies Grin

Really hope I get seen soon. Been in google Confused mine is hard and funny feeling so pretty worried now.

MatildaTheCat · 09/03/2015 13:42

I had one under my right breast, sort of tender but definitely a lumpy thing. I was referred to the breast clinic and the doctor said straight away it wasn't a site you get cancers. However they did all the mammograms and us scans and found nothing. Doc said it was likely a swelling on the rib age. He did give it a name but I forget what.

Hope you get reassured soon.

Thanks Matilda that's good to know. That was my initial thought as it's basically where middle of bra is between my boobs, not on either of them but the feel of it is really odd. Looks like appointment Friday so not too long.

DrawingPlans · 09/03/2015 16:06

Ooh, thanks Matilda.

The location is exactly why I wasn't too concerned initially. I knew that Breast Cancer could go above the breast, but had never heard of it below.

I did consult Dr Google I like doing it for fun and I couldn't find anything on there that made me worry tbh. Will wait and see what the Doc says on Thursday.

Glad you too have got an appt Murphy. Please let us know how you get on.
