Is this normal no. 127: wheezy baby

My 2 wk old DS has tended to breathe v noisily since birth. He'll wheeze occasionally and breathe v quickly, sometimes having difficulty taking in a breath. Is this normal for so young a baby, or shd I take him to the gp? I'm mildly asthmatic, so a bit paranoid about such things...

Hi swizzler, C-section babies tend to weaze a bit for a few weeks, my ds weezed for about 6-8 weeks before it cleared up. It has to do with the mucus not being expelled due to the lack of force throught the birth canal. However, I would have it checked out if you are asmathic, just to be on the safe side, it will put you at ease too. I would recommend a gp rather than HV.
