Has anyone had one recently? My DF had one today with a sedative.

He says I have to stay with him for 24 hours until the effects wear off.

I've had a sedative on a few occasions & they wore off after a few hours of sleep. I seriously don't have to move in with him do I??

My DH had to stay with my MIL but only because she is diabetic and after fasting pre procedure her sugars were a bit off. After a general anaesthetic I'd advise company but for a sedative, as long as your friend is safe and secure, has access to drink and a phone and you text or phone regularly they should be fine. As long as they feel OK on their feet for the loo etc and maybe make sure they aren't tackling stairs until they've slept it off a bit.
