Still producing BM 8 years later

I last breast fed almost 8 years ago but I can still produce milk on demand.
I've been to the doctor and seen a specialist but they said it's fine as long as it doesn't bother me which it doesn't.
Good thing is my boobs grew from a b cup to a dd and have never gone down so I'm not complaining I just wondered if this has happened to anyone else or am I just weird?

What sort of specialist did you see; sounds like you were fobbed off by that person.

You may well have an excess of the hormone called prolactin which causes milk to be produced. Were blood tests to check this hormone level ever done?.

Gosh this was awhile ago now, years even. I think he was the same doctor who checked my breasts when I thought I had a lump. I remember he said I could have something done to my nipples to stop the milk coming out but seeing as I wasn't actually leaking and it only came out when my nipples were squeezed or if they are milked he didn't want to do that because I could lose the sensation in them. I may have had that blood test but I don't remember, sorry I've got a terrible memory. I know my GP wasn't worried at all though.

You need up to date blood tests done to see what your level of prolactin is like now. This type of issue can usually be treated with tablets.

Thank you I shall ask again when I next go to the GP.

I would really get a second opinion on that if I were you.
