Cough not budging with medication, what next?

I went to the drs after 3 weeks, chest was ok, a few days later it

Sorry, it posted! I went to the drs a few days later as it was keeping me up all night, making me vomit and I was exhausted. Had increased inhalers, oral steroids and antibiotics. Have a couple Of days to got I with them.

What next if it doesn't clear? I am still vomiting with it at night, can't sleep (due to the inhalers I think, but also the bouts of coughing andv omitting) and I am fed up. Is there anything else they could give me?

I think the next step is an x-ray. I have been referred whenever I have been coughing for 3 weeks or more

What would they be looking for? Have had one before but not sure what they were looking for. I had pleurisy so maybe that was diagnosed from that?

I had this for 5 weeks before Christmas and Doctor refused to give me anything, saying chest was clear and it was a virus!!
DH ended up googling......
Hot water with lemon, honey and black pepper......it worked!!

I've tried all the home remedies too, plus the over the counter things. The most recent dr thinks it is all exacerbating my asthma! which hasn't bothered me for several years. I thought it was whopping cough following MN wisdom and vomiting. The first dr didn't have the benefit of me nearly throwing up I the surgery like the second one did!
