Foot & knee pain

I'm at my wits end. My DH is 36, not overweight & generally in good health. He used to run & bike, but not so much now due to work.

He has had foot & knee pain since last July, took painkillers, rested etc, but it got worse. He went to the Drs in jan as it got so bad he could hardly weight bear. He's had x-Rays that were normal, 2 different lots of bloods (including arthritis ones) that were normal & the GP just gave him codeine & basically said its work related, live with it.

He does do a manual job & can be on his hands & knees a lot. But now his lips keep randomly swelling & his elbow also has the same pain.

He is so miserable, it's starting to affect everything. Any ideas?

Possibly not too helpful but I'm sure the first bloods I got back for arthritis were negative . I had knee pain for a good few years until I went to a consultant who did diagnose rheumatoid arthritis .

Hope you find out what's wrong with him. Good luck ThanksThanks

He doesn't want to go back & push for further tests for fear of not being believed.

We can use some savings for a private MRI if needs be. I just don't know what to do next?

I understand where he's coming from I'm quite like that too . If he's in more pain and he hasn't been to the dr since January they should take that into account and look into it further.

I would go back to the gp if I were him , just to see what they say and they may well refer him for further tests.
