Lumps on fingers

muttonjeffmum · 11/02/2015 22:15

I wonder if anyone can help me work out what these lumps are? They are on one finger on each hand. Different finger. They are just below the finger nail and seem to change in size - one day bigger then maybe smaller the next day.

I have shown to my GP and diabetic nurse and neither of them could help. In fact, they both said to ask the other! They don't hurt particularly but look horrible.

Thank you.

Heberden's nodes?

I certainly have them - my hands are changing in to those of my gran's Grin

Could be Pacific but these are kind of soft and I can push them in. My friend said I should try to pop them with a needle but I don't fancy trying that! And they don't look like that picture (yet). My knuckles don't seem to be affected.

I think as with all skin things, you need to get somebody in RL have a proper look at them as it could be so many things for your description and if neither your GP nor your nurse knew what they were, then it's unlikely to be something v obvious (like the afore-mentioned Heberden's nodes Grin).

Hand warts?
Gouty tophi?
Erythema nodosom?
Fibrocytoma?
Callous?
Molluscum?

That's just off the top of my head - the list goes on and is not in any particular order.

Can you see another dr or ask for a dermatology referral?

Thank you. Yes I will make another appointment to see my usual GP. The one I saw was very nice but I had never seen her before.
