dh has just taken ds (2.8) to the out of hours dr. They said it was urgent but not A&E type emergency.

He's been ill since Thursday night. High temperature, not eating or drinking, complaining of tummy ache. He had a major vomiting session this afternoon which we thought we would be hte end of it. But he's been going down hill all evening. And nurofen and/or calpol has not brought his temperature down. He's now got a heat rash on his body and weird dark red spots on his face. His lips are very red, he can't swallow properly, prefers to sleep in foetus position.

Sorry i just need company until dh phones me!

you poor thing - what a worry. I can keep you company. How far away has your DH had to take him? There seem to be a lot of awful bugs around at the moment. You have done the right thing in getting him checked out.

paddingtonbear1 · 21/10/2006 23:30

your poor ds it does sound like a nasty bug, you must be v worried. hope dh phones soon, how far is the dr?

MamaGhoul · 21/10/2006 23:31

lulumama · 21/10/2006 23:31

oh dear....hope he is ok,....sounds poorly...do let us know what doc says.....

Mercy · 21/10/2006 23:42

Thank you everyone. We were given the choice of a dr coming to visit in 2-3 hours or an appt at 23.15!

When we put ds in teh car he was all smiles - typical! But I've gone over with dh what exactly is wrong with ds.

No news yet though. Again, many thanks to all of you

You know essbee's DS (who is 8 so outside the normal age range for it) has recently been diagnosed with Kawasaki disease ? Do these symptoms look like your DS's, Mercy? (It was the lips that made me wonder)

carol3 · 22/10/2006 00:26

how's things going ?

ediemay · 22/10/2006 00:32

sorry Mercy, I'm going to have to hit the hay. I really hope you have good news and that you get some rest tonight. Hugs to your DS. Night night, sorry to be a wimp!!

PretendFriend · 22/10/2006 00:35

Me too - hope DH and DS will be home soon and that it isn't anything major, just another rashy virus (there are so many of them)

PinkTulips · 22/10/2006 00:40

oh mercy, your poor ds

is he home yet?

MamaGhoul · 22/10/2006 09:43

How is he doing Mercy?

Mercy · 22/10/2006 12:17

Well dh and ds got back at about 12.30 - the doctor said it was just a virus and there was nothing we could do except try and make him drink as much as possible.

Somehow I knew that's what they would say, but it's best that he was checked. And ds is absoutley fine today (of course) - and we are shattered!

Thank everyone!
