Borderline Smear Test Result.

I've received a letter to say my recent smear test showed borderline cell changes so the lab tested for HPV.

There was no evidence of HPV so the letter said I should just come back in 3 years time for another smear as usual.

I'm confused and worried by this. Shouldn't I have another smear quicker than the suggested 3 years if there are borderline changes?

I wouldve thought so. When I had abnormalities I had a checkup once a year.. Could you query this with your GP?
