I had tests done in December & end of January, the results were:
Dec
F4 - 8.6
TSH - 4.91

Jan
F4 - 9.5
TSH - 8.47

My symptoms are fatigue, slow bowel, weight gain, sore joints, pins & needles in hands, palpatations, low libido, slight depression, brain fog + irritable (what a joy I am).

Also now I think I have a lump on one side of what I think is my thyroid (possibly a nodule?).

Doctor said he will look at the nodule but says my symptoms aren't caused by my levels. Recommended a retest in 3 months.Confused
It seems a long time to wait since I feel quite rubbish.

Anyone in the know have any advice or thoughts. Am I just making a fuss?

i dont know much medically but mymam has stages where she has problems with her thyroid.

she is unbearable to be around emotional, snappy, angry, sleeping at the drop of a hat and put on a lot of weight. they were all symptoms and it took a while for her to be diagnosed.

on the bright side once she was and given medication she returned to her lovely self Grin

as a side note my mams seems to be linked to quitting smoking of all things so she is caught between a hard place and a fag!

If those are TSH and FT4 results, your immediate need is for a new doctor as you are apparently very hypothyroid.

Take yourself over to the ThyroidUK forum at www.healthunlocked.com and tell your story there. They'll help to navigate your way through this.

thanks Ginger I'm hoping to one day return to my good natured selfSmile

I will definitely also post on that forum rockin thank you. I have looked at the nice guidelines that says not to treat if fsh is less than 10 if asymptomatic. My GP is unconvinced that I have symptomsAngry Angry
