I've had longtime issues with piles. Ended up in A&E in September because one had thrombosis. They were banded in October and I'm waiting for a couple of tags to be removed in a few months under GA. So thought that was the end of my woes. Nope, she missed two and Friday night they prolapsed, Saturday I woke with the familiar "get to A&E!" pain. My partner said it's the worst he's ever seen it, normally he can keep a straight face but he looked horrified. The whole lot is purple and one is solid and hard.

Went to A&E was given yellow rating at reception before I'd even been triaged. Dr looked for about 2 seconds, didn't even touch and said he was calling surgical.

Surgical have said it's too bad for surgery so sent me home. I'm on three painkillers, anti-inflammatory and antibiotics because it's ischemic already and they said it will become an abscess as it dies.

I honestly expected the police to knock my door Saturday night as I was howling from pain. I have fibromyalgia and so much damage in my spine I walk in crutches, neither of us can remember the last time I was crying in pain, even labour doesn't phase me.

Today it's raw and bleeding, I've just got in the bath because I'm in so much pain. all around my privates are throbbing and feel kicked too. I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes open but the pain is stopping me sleeping.

I have to go back to surgical in the morning to check on it. everyone thinks they're operating but the doctors said they'd risk cutting the sphincter as it's do bad they'd be going in blind, all they want to do is look.

Funny story, Mum sent Dad to pick me up. I have no idea what she told him, or what went in more to the point, but he said "so are they going to have to for a total hysterectomy?" I told Mum and all she could manage was "I'm saying nothing" my dad does live on another planet!

Oh my goodness I'm so sorry that sounds awful.

My friend had a similar thing although not anything like yours and she filled a condom with water and then froze it and applied to the area, might that provide any relief?
I really hope they can sort this quickly for you Thanks Wine

Ouchee! I've been there. Definitely worse than labour and on a par with intense earache. Except you don't have to sit on or walk around your ears! I remember that all 'round bruised feeling too Sad

Witch hazel helped. I remember soaking cotton wool in copious amounts and holding it to the area. Obviously, you are probably so sore at this stage that even the thought of doing that must be horrific!

I do hope the surgeons are able to do more for you than um and poke.

Oh lovely, that sounds awful :( my friend, overseas, had hers done by laser, she said it was great. She's so much happier now. I hope they can get you sorted out soon x

PMSL at your Dad though! Silly bugger.

The hospital was pleased with how it's progressing,, they're letting my surgeon know I've been in and going to try chasing my appointment. I'm still sore but it's not so intense now. occasional throb which makes me cry out, I'm not taking painkillers now though.

Flowers oh my, you have my commiserations. Even 'normal' piles are agony. Please, please don't Put ice on raw skin. It will burn you. If you do use it wrap up in gauze and be careful.

ChippingInLatteLover · 04/02/2015 00:07

I'm glad they're pleased, but it's not their botty! Poor you Flowers

confuddledDOTcom · 04/02/2015 09:50

thank you ladies. It's getting easier each day but I'm still in bed, everything I do hurts.

Can't use ice as I can't control my body temperature and risk dropping. I was out Friday and was so tempted to sit in the snow... I did consider asking for ice at the bar I was in so much pain (even before it thrombosed).

:(

I had a very small one a few years ago and that was agony. I can only imagine the kind of pain you are in :(
