Getting every cold going this month. Strategies?

I've had threee colds this month, one followed by a kingering larnygitus. the strain on my voice is the worst thing (I teach music to kids so need to sing).

I have rubbish Eustachian tubes, voice damage from long ago and perennial rhinitus but otherwise I don't know what my weaknesses/deficiencies are. Some questions for any experts out there.

-should you throw out old Otrivines/First Defence and replace them ?

  • what supplements are the best to take? Multi vitamin? Echinacea?
  • do you have to stop using rhinitus steroids?
  • why is it that once you've succumbed to one bad cold you seem to get more?
-should you still exercise even with that slightly shaky under the weather feeling?

Any top tips gratefully received.

Watching with interest. Also catch every cold going - working in a primary probably doesn't help! Confused

I asked my immunologist this after getting four colds in three weeks in a new job. He said 125mg zinc, a good multi vit, and a sunbed session a week (specific to me: me vit d is always at about 11 and I've had immune probs so for me the risk of skin cancer is lower than the risk of huge amounts of time off work - that said I'm trying another large loading dose first and a spray thing)

Yes to working in a primary - shouldn't we be getting immune though?

Another question, is the whole dairy/mucus thing true or not?

went to the chemists and they gave me a "tonic".

A nice sugary drink anyway.

All snotty now.
