Health anxiety fire up!! :(

Hi guys ! Been off here a while now as I've had my anxiety under control.... Till now. Basically I found a lump a few years back after a terrible cold. The lump was under my jaw (a gland) never changed since expect slightly smaller. got over it then found another after another cold a year later. Got over it I'm still alive then last month I noticed a slight niggle pain in my left side. My anxiety flew through the roof thinking it was my spleen and that I most definitely had lymphoma!! I've thought I've had it for about 2 years now. I won't go to the docs as I'm petrified. Just need some nice Adobe

Are you losing weight? Have you lost your appetite? Are you very tired? Are you in terrible pain? Have you experienced any blood loss from your Vagina or Anus? Have you got a persistent cough? Does your stomach bloat frequently. Have you got a serious thirst? Do you have chest pains?

I am not sure I have covered every life threatening condition but if you can't tick quite a few of those symptoms off, I think it would be fair to say that you are in good health. You little lumps are probably slightly blocked salivary glands.
You have a phobia if you can't go to your GP. What about hypnosis.

I have none of those. Oooo hypnosis I've never thought of that before. Think it could be any good?

I did hypnosis for HA for a while.

I loved it. I had to give it up because I couldn't afford it for a while, but I am thinking of going back now. I think the talking to the hypnotherapist may have helped me more than the hypnotherapy though as she was so amazing and kind.

My kids father died of lymphoma, nothing you have said sounds anything like it to me. My ex H's spleen was so enlarged with it that it looked like someone stuck a rugby ball in his top. It was very very noticeable. Also a lot of pain, like rushed into A&E pain. If you had had it for any length of time you would know. I have a lot of noticeable glands under my jaw.

Obviously I am not a doctor and we should always advise people to see their gp but obviously right now you can't face it. You do need to try to tackle that one though because obviously being able to see a gp is important for the future. However, nothing you said jumps out to me as being lymphoma.

I understand how you feel I really do. HA has took over my life but tackling the gp phobia is extremely important so I would definitely recommend hypnotherapy too.

I think Hypnosis has quite good results regarding phobias.
However, doing something physical would be good for you. Too much time spent indoors navel gazing is not a good idea if you suffer from anxiety.

Anything like swimming or walking very quickly, so that you get out of breath etc. any activity that takes your mind off yourself is good. activity also produces natural endorphins which are mood enhancers.

Hi well basically I probably should not be here as I'm 18 and well I'm a male
However I need to ask a question about Anxiety and well who better to ask than Mums

Basically my attacks are night and they have started to control my what would be normal life I am unable to attend the gym or play rugby through fear I will have an attack
I have had my heart and everything else checked so I know it's my mind playing games
Basically it has began controlling me and it's making me down a lot due to just the fear of it happening, my partner has to be in the toilet with me and this is again a problem due to my IBS well I was put on Beda Blockers or what ever they are called and they have not worked at all

Has anyone got any ideas how to deal with this?

Connor anxiety is very common. Go to your GP and ask for a referral for CBT. There are always therapists in surgery or close by that. Should be six sessions for free on the NHS.

It's all to do with the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviour and your beliefs about yourself the world's and others.

Sorry about your Phobia, as I feel sure that is what it is. It is so tiring. You need some counselling. You can get some on the NHS, but if it's not enough then get yourself on a initial counselling course at a local college.
You need to understand why you are feeling like this.
I am not a psychiatrist but I think it is to do with being sensitive, and Poor parenting, that that then leads to low self esteem.
Have you had a tough time?
It may be that you need to have your Medication reviewed and also see if you can be given CBT which is Cognitive Behavioral Theraphy. This helps us look at our behaviour and hopefully helps us change it.

Having a Phobia ruins your life. However, the good news is you can recover from this and resume having fun and enjoying your self.
So go back to your GP and explain that you are not feeling better. Then tell them the truth, Doctors are not mind readers. They need something to go on. Don't worry that you are going to look a fool as they have heard it all before. Millions of us suffer from anxiety unfortunately.

Connor hope your feeling better. I used to wake up and my whole body felt like it was shaking from the inside it was awful. It's amazing how powerful anxiety can be. Hope your feeling better soon

U2theedhe thanks for sharing that with me. Sorry about your kids father. It's always been a worry of mine. And weirdly my pain has eased a lot today thanks a lot I'm going to look into hypnosis
