An embarrassing issue re. Emptying bladder

Please help. When I go the loo, I have a wee and then sometimes when I stand up, I get another gush of urine. So awful! I feel like I have emptied my bladder until I stand and then I get a huge urge and have to dash back onto the loo. What could this be? I should say I am 52 and have had 2 kids and am in perimenopause.

Don't panic, urinary problems are more common than you might think. I'd suggest you do see your GP and ask to be referred. They will probably send you to urodynamics who will be able to asses what is going on in your bladder as it fills and empties and you can go from there.

You may have a small bladder prolapse that has become more troublesome with the menopause looming.
You can try voiding and then shifting your position on the loo and trying again.
You will, however have to visit your GP. A specialist gynae physio can help a lot.
