Lost coil, where could it be!

I have had pains in my left side for two weeks so a scan showed the coil had moved - she didn't say where to so I don't fully understand.
I saw a doctor who did an internal and couldn't see the coil or see threads so I have to go back for another scan too find it.

I'm just wondering if anyone can give me any experiences of this happening to them.

I know it's fairly self explanatory but I am quite confused about where it could be.

It could have embedded into the lining of your womb. That's what happened to me and I had to have it removed under GA.

The gp found the strings when she was trying to exchange the old
coil for a new one but the coil wasn't on the end of them!

Oh , that's not good. Did you have a coil again after that experience?

No - that was my first and last coil!

The funny thing was that the threads were always where they should be - I could always feel the ends of them and wrongly assumed that the coil was in the correct place. As soon as the gp realised she wasn't going to get it out she told me that it was probably embedded somewhere it shouldn't be.

It was all ok in the end although it was a bit of a nuisance having to go into hospital to have it removed.

Put me off the coil forever
