Periods after childbirth - Can they be irregular?

Just wondering if they can be irregular as I'm bleeding lightly and my period isn't due till the beginging of next month. I am on medication for other things which may be the cause - any advice would be appreciated.

when did you give birth Jzee?

I've had one and ds2 is 4.5 months. I've even done a pregnancy test which was negative. Still waiting for mine and I'm more than three weeks over now.

After ds1 I had one period and then nothing for eighteen months. The same might be happening again.

My baby was born 8 months ago and up until now they have been fairly regular.
