What is this burning?

Hi all.
For the last two weeks I've had this burning feeling in my stomach. Sometimes after I eat, sometimes in between meals. Sometimes, nothing.
I have no pain, normal bowels and the burning, although not painful, is doing my head in!
I'm not sure if this is what heartburn is? I don't really have this issue at night in bed!
If anyone can shed some light, that would be great!

Thanks

(I will make appointment with docs today)

Hiatus Hernia, excess acids maybe?

Thanks kittycat. I have come across HH before so I'm wondering if it could be that?

Typical! GP is booked for the next two weeks...

Sounds v similar to the acid reflux/heartburn I experienced in pregnancy (not saying you're pg!)

Try some gaviscon, or if you want something less gross, the chewable tums pastilles (Mmm they're like sweets)

Still go and see the gp of course, but hopefully that might make you feel more comfortable in the mean time

Thanks Curls. I've got two DD's but funnily enough didn't have a whiff of heartburn with either of them. That's why I am slightly baffled.
At the moment Gaviscon is my new best friend.

Thanks for the tip.
