Is it possible to have really mild shingles?

I've had this rash at the top of my leg for about three weeks, it was never itchy just felt like it was burning a bit at times. It had some blisters on it and this photo is how it looks now after around three weeks. It hadn't really crossed my mind it might be shingles because it was so mild. However my DD has now got chicken pox and I wondered if she could have caught it from me, as there don't seem to be any other children around with it.

I have had shingles a number of times, I always get it in one small area and as the years have gone, it's got milder with each bout.

My reasoning is that shingles appears to vary quite a lot in how it presents in people, and GPs only seem to be able to diagnose from the rash. So it probably makes sense to know how shingles appears in you. That way, if it happens again, you will know what it is, have the options of getting anti-virals to help with how long it lasts and potentially something for any pain. You will also be able to avoid infecting others with chicken pox.

I have had a few bouts of mild shingles, one memorable time was all around my mouth, another time a small ring on my torso. Very uncomfortable but not too painful. Hope it heels soon.

Yes, I got it very mildly in just one place. My GP prescribed anti-virals which probably stopped it getting worse. It was uncomfortable, but not too painful.
