Heavy bleeding whilst on Prozac

Hi, I am hoping someone can tell me if this is normal or not...I have been taking Prozac for a month, and yesterday I got my period. I usually have fairly light periods, but now I am experiencing a very heavy bleed and have to change my pad at least every hour. I am even using a "night time" maxi pad but that isn't enough, its soaking everywhere. When I got up this morning to change my underwear, it all came spilling out onto the carpet :( Every time I get up from sitting or lying down, I feel like I am weeing myself. Sorry for the TMI but I have had to take the day off work because I'm feeling a bit light headed and this isn't normal for me at all.
Could it be a side effect of the Prozac? I am not sure whether to make a GP appointment or just let it run its course.

Not the same quite, but when I was on Prozac I had daily light spotting for several months. I mentioned it to my GP who said there was no evidence of that kind of side effect, but sure enough as soon as I stopped taking the Prozac the spotting stopped. So I wonder if that could be similar?

I certainly can't think of anything else that could be causing it. Other than this, I have had no other issues with the medication so am keen to keep on taking it, but not if I'm bleeding like this every month.
