diagnose me internet

oh my lord, I am hideously unwell today, I've sweated through 3 sets of pj's and had chills on and off. my headache will not shift, I can barely lift my head off the pillow, my joints and glands are all swollen, I just feel like death. didn't help I'm on my own with 6mo ds either I can barely lift him I'm so weak and I nearly dropped him. I've spoken to the gp but she has said it could be anything viral and is have to wait for it to be in full swing for a diagnosis.

so mumsnet, what do you think I have? and any tips for coping?

Sounds like flu. Grab anything you'll need from the kitchen throughout the day now and stay in bed with lo. Keep topped up with fluids so you don't feel as shite. Get well soon!

I'm terrified of ds catching this :( he's just sat in his bouncy chair staring at me poor little thing. I can manage sipping.water but I've yet to try food .

As long as you're drinking fluids don't worry too much about food. Just eat lightly when you feel up to it. It's horrible isn't it having to be mum and ill at the same time. Can anyone mind him for an hour or 2 so you can rest up?

Keep the Fluids up and find a babysitter for the next few days. It sounds like hell! I went through so much of this (bit.ly/1KYe6t2) trying to keep it away from my littlie I think it did the trick as she sisn't pick it up. Rest, Fluids and ' Jewish Penicillin' ( Chicken noodle soup, clear broth kind not creamy) Hope it clears up soon

I've managed a banana and have drunk water all day, I feel awful I've also had to call in sick to work which I hate doing but I don't take the piss and do go in with a cold or sore throat, but I can barely walk about so I know deep down I'm too ill for work.

my mother and my saviour is coming to help me!! DP is away with work so not around for a few days .

:( I know the feeling about work but no need to feel guilty you are Ill and even if you managed to drag yourself in they'd be none to happy with you spreading it around.
So glad you have back up today and how typical is it that it happens when your partner is away!?!

yeah I can't imagine the office would be happy with a sweaty sick colleague sat at a desk, at the moment I'm changing pajamas every 2/3 hours .

I've spoken to DP and he has said if it gets too hard to phone welfare and see if they can send him home
