Can anyone explain why I can't use this product while I'm BF?

at a guess because it contains some chemicals which might be absorbed in through the skin and contaminate bm? boots are probably arse covering but you could maybe see what the ingrediants were or check with the pharmacist. they often know more than the gp!

yeah i guess you're right. I was just confused about the correlation between a skin treatment on my foot and milk that comes from my boobs. but i guess there could be absorbtion.

obviously a good reason not to if it states to avoid when bf-ing... It must contain substance which is harmful when ingested.

It probably contains salicylic acid, which is chemically similar to the active component of aspirin, which is contraindicated in children under 16, and therefore breastfeeding as it can cause Reyes syndrome, a disease or syndrome that can damage the organs.

What is more likely is they they can't be bothered to pay to get it tested to check if any would get into breastfeeding or have any effect!

But I am not a chemist so cannot make any comments either way. If yoiu ask at the pharmacy they will should be able to tell you if hant been tested or what effects it will have!

I'm not sure I'd even think to check with something like that ! The pharacise can consult his/her big book of medicines and their contraindications to judge if it is really an issue or not.
