Migraine and permanent vision loss

I recently experienced peripheral vision loss in my right eye. I do suffer migraines but I never got a headache. Consultant says the loss is permanent and possibly won't return. I'm devastated. Anyone else experienced this? X

Sorry to hear this. Have you seen an ophthalmologist and had it ruled out that it's not solely an eye issue? What did the neurologist say about treating your migraines?

I've had something similar, it's happened a few times, but it lasted a few days - week at most & was more very darkened vision in one eye, though I've had bright light blind me in both eyes for an hour.

I also get more visual & other symptoms than severe headaches, though I do get headaches & they can be bad, but have never fit the classic migraine patter, but I still have a chronic migraine diagnosis.

They've more recently realised it is actually "Cerviocogenic Headache" not migraine at all & is related to my cervical spine - probably due to a ?hiplash injury & Hypermobile spine - this can cause these symptoms, but is often missed - is this something that is a possibility for you too ?? - it might be worth looking into, as some sort of manipulation such as chiropractic of osteopath could maybe help - it does for me
