Teething ... lack of appetite, diarrhea ???

has been a long time since I have posted anything !

DD is now 7 months and has started to suddenly become restless during her feeds , be it solids or her milk. She is also having more runny poos (from having been constipated before) . Is diarrhea really a symptom of teething ?> I know that there is a debate abt this. What are your experiences ? I am going to revert back to basic foods liek just baby rice for a day or too to see if she may have a stomach bug or something. Any other suggestions from you Mumsnetters ??? Also, we live in HK and weather is now getting very warm... Do you think that the heat can be a source of irritation as well ?

Definitely think there is a link - whenever DD2 is teething, seems to get the funny runny poo, lack of appetite, not quite herself, but can't quite put your finger on what's wrong - also gets snotty too. It's only when the notice the red swollen gums or the tooth poking out you realise what has been the matter!

I totally think there's a link. Ds had absolutely revolting, stinky nappies when he was teething and refused point blank to let anything near his mouth unless he put it there - and at 7 mths babies aren't the greatest at self-feeding yet

But it might be the only way - try broken breadsticks or sugar free rusks so she can have a really good gnaw but eat something too.

The nappy thing is to do with the excess saliva which is acidic and it reacts with the stomach contents which is alkaline - never really did chemistry so someone might correct me - but it basically makes for evil nappies from hell. Maybe only for a few days though, so get it checked out if you're worried. Nappies were greenish too - yeuch!

cords, dd always has bad nappies when teething and often gets a bad nappy rash which spreads over her bottom cheeks, looks like she's got bad sunburn. She never has nappy rash at any other time so I know it's connected. And her nappies smell kind of acidic like photographic chemicals if you've ever smelt them.

Her poos definitely smell sharp ...

Evita ... how is the CC going ?

Hi cords. The cc I kind of side-stepped with a change of routine and this, so far, has worked at night but we're still having a hellish time at nap times.

How's your dd's teeth and pants?

My dd's got a rotten bottom at the moment poor little soul. I can't help but wonder if this is coinciding with her change in sleeping habits.

Evita, if only they can tell us !!!!

DD has today not done a poo ! Am wondering if it was a stomach bug , or if she had ingested something bad or whether it was germs . She is still restless at meal and bottle times .

Hope the naps sort themselves out ... Yr DD is over 1 year right ? How many hours a day does she / did she sleep ?
