Pain after root canal treatment

I had a root canal treatment yesterday after suffering from pain for about 5 days. Dentist x-rayed before and after doing the clearing out of the tooth as there was an abcess there. I am in much more pain now than before it was treated and I wondered how long the pain is likely to go on.

I am alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol and it is not really touching it.

Any suggestions would be helpful

Mine was pretty sore for a week or so. Sorry! Although not so sore that I really needed painkillers. I'd give it another day or two and then go back if it's still really painful

It gradually improved but it twinged on and off for most of the next year but seems to be fine now.

I don't know whether that helps or just makes you feel worse.

Mine was dreadful for three or four days and then settled down. I've not had any problems since.

Thanks for that. Hopefully it will only go on for another couple of days
