Can you get Chickenpox twice? 17 month old DS

My DS had what I thought was chickenpox 3 weeks ago. He went off his food for a couple of days, had a runny nose, and came out in a few spots around his nappy area, none of which blistered . He had a few blisters on his feet but they didn't really scab over. The pharmacist thought it might be chckenpox but really wasn't sure, and my DS seemed untroubld by the whole experience.

I was starting to think it might not have been that at all, when a few days later I caught them (I had never had them before). I was head to toe covered and thought I was dying! Then, on Tuesday, my 5 month old DD started to get blisters and she has it quite bad now.

I thought that was the end of it, but I've noticed that my DS this morning has a few blisters on his torso and nappy area, and a couple on his head. Can you catch them twice? Do you think maybe it wasn't actually chickenpox to start with? I'm so confused lol. He seems a bit crabby today, with not much of an appetite.

If they get it mildly then, yes, they can get it again. My friend's little boy had a mild case of chicken pox at about 9 months but got it again quite badly a couple of years later.
