metronidazole

Really not sure where to put this..
I had an erpc under local anaesthetic yesterday afternoon. I was given one metronidazole tablet straight afterwards and 4 other antibiotic pills which were taken at the same time.
I understand that I'm not supposed to drink alcohol with metronidazole, but will I be okay to by Christmas evening? It will be over 48 hours then and I really wouldn't mind consoling myself with a drink or three during the festive season.
Would I be okay to do this by then? Thank you.

Sorry you have had to have this procedure.

48 hours after your last dose of metro you are very likely to be Ok. You probably deserve a drink! Obviously go easy, stop drinking if you feel funny (well, funnier than you usually do after a drink).

Hope you were ok. No one told me when I took M not to drink. Even though it had been 24 hours after stopping I felt SO ill. When I mentioned it to Dr they brightly said "oh yes, we give that to alcoholics to help them stop" grrrr!
