Asthma - cough variant?

Hi, DH has had a terrible cough for about two years now. They diagnosed asthma/cough variant and he has two kinds of inhalers. Yet, the cough continues. Every time he walks outside, he gets in quite a state. He thinks it might be allergies to fumes/pollen/trees/modern life, etc, etc.

I was wondering if anyone has similar or knows ways to deal with it. GP's don't seem to know. I am pushing him to see a specialist in the New Year.

Oh eighttwenty, grim isn't it. Nothing seems to work.

So you've got an appointment for the resp consultant? Maybe they'll come up with something.

The constant coughing seems to set off all manners of strains/aches now too. Last night was particularly bad - hence posting - we only walked for about ten minutes and he coughed non-stop.

For him, it is less bad when we go to different countries/climates but we're right in the busy suburbs here and no chance of leaving really.

Hi, I would really like to know what worked as we are facing the same issue with our daughter. Nothing seems to work.
