I keep having what can only be described as 'swooning' fits, though I've only properly fainted once. Is there anything I could carry with me to help when I have one of these 'episodes' do you think? I'm wondering about small packets of nuts, a bottle of water etc. Any ideas much appreciated.

How often do you get these and how long do they last? What triggers them, ie, hunger, heat? Have you had blood sugar tested? Sorry, lots of questions as not much info to go on. Yes, I guess keeping some water on board a good idea.

No idea what triggers them. Have been having them for about eight months or more. Doctor says low blood pressure might be part of it. Doesn't seem to be any pattern to them, although extreme temperatures seem to make it worse.

Does gp have any other suggestions as what may be causing it? You might find you're getting anxious about this and poss triggering an episode? Getting eyes tested maybe another idea?

WipsGlitter · 21/12/2014 16:15

My mum used smelling salts.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/12/2014 16:17

Eyes fine. Am anaemic, which is probably causing it too. It doesn't appear to be linked to anxiety, as far as I can tell. Can happen anywhere, any time, even if fully relaxed.

Can you still buy smelling salts? I remember my nan having them - horrible, horrible smell.

Yes. You can still get them. Boots and Amazon both have them.

Thanks, Wips. It's getting to the point when I will try anything.
