How do you get rid on warts on feet?

My dd (26) has had a wart or verruca type thing on her foot. She says it hurts to walk on. She's tried the usual verruca treatments to no avail. Is there anything that really works? She thinks she'll have to get it cut out, but I'm sure there must be something that works.

She can either try another over the counter treatment for verrucas or go to her gp to get them frozen off (sounds worse than it is, they put a special substance on them to freeze them and hopefully they'll fall off naturally about a week later). If that treatment fails she may need to get them surgically removed in the hospital. Verrucas will not go away without treatment and are very contagious so use disinfectant after she uses the shower, don't share footwear and she she will need to dispose of/disinfect her footwear after treatment so she doesn't reinfect her feet. The verrucas have spoars so they can spread. Very common in swimming pool areas or anywhere people walk around bare foot.

DS had some massive persistent verrucas. We painted them with clear nail varnish every night and gave him vitamins. They started getting smaller/loose and we sort of dug at them with tweezers and nail
Scissors and kept up the nail varnish. They went! And have stayed gone for approx 2 years

PS worked on his wart on finger too - he'd had 2 lots of freezing that didn't work.
It might just be coincidental as apparently they will go eventually anywayx

I found the verrucas treatments like Bazuka didn't work until I cut the dead skin off with a knife in between treatments (and cut down really deep too). When it hurts you've gone too far! I really sympathise. Mine were when I was that age too and they were so hard to get rid of. It was only when I got really brutal with them that they cleared. It was amazing when they were gone.

A dermatologist told me to irritate the skin surrounding the wart. The immune system then fights off the irritation and starts to fight the wart.

I had a wart on the bottom of my foot for years. I covered it in black nail varnish and tape. Replacing every few days and it slowly got smaller. Now it's completely gone I couldn't believe it was so easy after so many years! I think it took me around 4 weeks.

I don't know about verrucas, but I had a wart on my foot for years. It vanished within about a fortnight once I started putting banana peel on it. 'Twas amazing. (Fresh peel, put the inside of the skin next to wart, tape over. Replace peel every 24 hours.)

I had warts and the only way that I got rid of them was regular freezing treatments at the doctors. It took about 5 visits about 3 weeks apart and yes, it was painful, but it was worth it to be wart free finally.

I had tried all the over the counter remedies, banana skins, nail varnish, duct tape and everything else recommended on MN and for me nothing worked.

Warts and verrucas are the same thing, we just call them verrucas when they're on feet. They're caused by a virus (not fungal, which is what has what has spores) so your immune system should fight it off eventually.

Sorry, I missed that it was hurting her when she walks. She could see a podiatrist for freezing/other more aggressive treatments?

The problem of cutting out a verruca is that you don't give your immune system time to build up, and so they will just keep coming back.
