This used to happen to me all the tim ewhen I was teaching YG, at least twice every winter.
A hot toddy is good - big shot of whisky, brown sugar, lemon juice and boiling water. Or my Gran used to do Hot Buttered Rum - double measure of dark rum, big teaspoon of butter, sugar and boiling water.
Gargling does help. Tyr taking vit C to stave off future colds as you might never get near the doc and cant cope with nurses.
Jurgen is a leader for kids rock our local kids acticities, but he really likes it.

YG. Sorry that you're feeling rough. May I suggest you buy some Difflam Oral Rinse from the Chemist and gargle with it - it's brilliant and I can highly recommend it. They also do a spray version. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Me too.

I had to take the day off work today...can't talk , can't teach.

I've tried in the past and ended up with a major 2 week leave of absence.

Felt like crap all day today

I lose my voice at least a couple of times a year with colds.. Sometimes it lierally goes completely. It's a pain but my family see it as a blessing and look forward to winter for this reason

Bummer, poor you YG and MB Hope you're both on the mend soon. Maybe Star Stories on Channel 4 followed by bed?
