Hi guys,
so i havent had my period since ds was born in april and my doctor wants me to have an ultrasound of my ovaries. Im a bit nervous as googled it and it comes up with a transvaginal? ultasound. ive never had one, do i have to or can i just have the abdominal one like the one i had when pregnant?

thanx:)

The transvaginal one is fine. It is just a thinnish wand with a condom on. I don't think they would be able to see as well with a normal one. I only had the internal one whilst pregnant though, so don't know for sure.

Thanx, sorry if this sounds weird but does it hurt?

I've had more such ultrasounds than I care to mention and they haven't hurt at all. The gel used feels a bit cold though!. These will give a clearer view of the uterine cavity and ovaries than on an external ultrasound scan.

Thanx!! That's reassuring.
