IIRC they don't need to be postponed for a cold, unless he is running a temperature.

Ah thanks PC

My dd has managed to catch a cold before every set of imms so far!! Definitely no reason to postpone unless he's really ill or has a temp, like PC said.

Hey people please take a look at this site b4 u decide informedparent.eway.co.uk/Portals/2/mmr.html.
Of course it is everyones right 2 choose what they believe is best 4 their own child but we are grossly misinformed by our own government and Drs. Please mums go 2 the website above and look out 4 talks by Trevor Gunn to get the other side of the story b4 u decide what 2 do-u can always get the jabs later but once their in u cant.

pukedonmama · 10/10/2006 19:58

Or at least wait till 3 yrs old when the immune system is fully formed

jabberwocky · 10/10/2006 20:02

I always postponed a jab if ds was ill - which he had an uncanny ability to do quite often!

Mojomummy · 10/10/2006 20:34

the link takes me to the MMR page - is there any on the first set of vaccinations ? DD2 is now 12 weeks & so far, I have avoided the drs.

pukedonmama · 11/10/2006 11:08

i will have a look but in the mean time try this page as it applies 2 all vaccines informedparent.eway.co.uk/info/tabid/60/Default.aspx

hi, yes have already read that - that's why holding off.

I do know of one little boy who had meningtis & nearly died, he lost his hearing instead though, so it's a very difficult decision.

I have this theory if you bf as long as poss, this might help (although the above was also bf).

I just don't know - could never forgive myself either way. I would be ok if it was one injection/vaccination at a time....but 5...
