Xylitol for baby?

I've been reading on older threads about the efficacy of xylitol in fighting ear infections. Does anyone know if it comes in a form that's safe for a 7 month old baby to take. I've seen a toothpaste but that's for 6 yrs + and I guess it doesn't contain sufficient amounts of xylitol to be effective in preventing ear infection.

I've used a tesco toothpaste with xylitol for children younger than 6 as used it since ds was 2.You could try rubbing a tiny bit on her gums, don't know if that'll make much difference though.
