post gallbladder op

Hi i had the op to remove my gallbladder two weeks ago but daily i keep getting really bad diarrhoea type pains but without the happy outcome, just pains that come and go.

Is this normal and if so how long will it last?

It could be the gas they pumped into you to do the op...try peppermint tea

It takes a while for the gut to settle down.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but some people don't really have a full recovery and have continuing git symptoms. Some sail through and some dont. I have had major acid problems ever since I had mine out. You may need to consider changing your diet. Keep away form all spicey foods and alcohol for a whole and not to much acidic food (eg fruit) in general and also maybe eat several smaller meals and not much in the evening.

Go and see you consultant if it doesn't sort itself out. He/She may suggest drugs like Zantac to reduce acid.
