My ds has eaten a glowstick! Any advice?????

DD came back from birthday party with one of those glowsticks you know the ones you snap then they glow in the dark, well after dp put ds to bed dd says one of them is broken we then notice all little teeth marks in it and it is leaking ds seems fine but just wanted another opinion.

erm - highly likely to be poisonous - can you get her to make herself sick - otherwise casualty innit!

Phone nhs direct and see what they will suggest.

If has actually got to liquid inside that is not nice stuff - quite toxic. Have known children before who have had no ill affects, but is safer to get it checked out.

ring nhs direct - is there any warnings on the packet - ie not suitable for ingestion etc? aww bless him! how much liquid has actually gone?

call NHS direct - they have a list of toxic things - give water or milk - not forced vomiting!

Could you ring the party host parents and ask them to check the packaging either for NON TOXIC or ingrediants, how much has gone and how old/big is he?

oops sorry thats what my mum used to get us to do when we were kids, sure things have changed though. did the trick when I drank petrol.

NHS direct me thinks, they will ask poisons clinic in London for any further advice. There is a good chance it will be ok, if produced for kids, but then again!!

I'm sure they are surprisingly non toxic, given how bright they are. But I would still ring nhs 24

The pack i have says If punctured the liquid may cause irritation.Wash out with copious amounts of water.
Both my DD's have bitten one and screamed out I think because of the taste.Gave them a drink and they were fine.

can you see a brand name on it at all?

we used to get these in huge amounts for raves (i had a stall) and dd1 used to play with them, the ones i had in stock were all non0toxic

if you scroll down, on left of page it basically says if ingested give water or milk.

sorry was upstairs giving him a shake to see if he is ok.
He's 21 months dp says not sure if any had gone but it had leaked where ds had left it but i think the little teeth marks say it all!

can u open his mouth and see if its glowing?

i'm serious, that stuff will leave a slight glowing resiude. some ravers used to do this.

Misdee his mouth doesnt seem to be glowing although it looks rather red and round his lips looks slightly spotty but then ds is allergic to everything so probably allergic to them.

My dd2 ate one last bonfire night, she had a glowing yellow mouth. She was fine, I think they are non-toxic
