Delgirl, go to the gp and tell him it may be gallstones as a bad attack can and will land you in A&E. I had really bad attacks which nothing bar morphine would ease, and I hate morphine. But if it is gallstones you need to get on the waiting list asap because it can take a while. The op itself is usually keyhole and straightforward with a quick recovery time.
Meanwhile do not eat anything with fat in it as fat aggrivates it. Good luck.

Ive seen the gp and he thinks it may be an inflamed muscle in the rib cage and should possibly. He siad the gall bladder would be on the right so he's sure it's not that. I;ve had what they think is viral arthritis for over 2 months now but this pain isn't the same but he thinks they could be connected.

going to keep on with the ibruprofen and try not to do too much. not easy with a very energetic toddler.

DelGirl · 05/10/2006 11:44

should/shoulder

sleepfinder · 05/10/2006 11:46

is there any way it might be a cracked rib? did they x-ray you at any point?

It would be hugely painful, located where you describe and impairs breathing...?

DelGirl · 05/10/2006 11:49

no they didn't. I thought they might. Maybe if i'd have gone to the hospital last night they may have done. it is easing and I can breathe a bit deeper though not like normal yet. I'm just relieved they're sure it's not serious

throckenholt · 06/10/2006 10:15

any better today ?

DelGirl · 06/10/2006 10:19

yes it is thanks throckenholt. I took the ibruprofen at about 10 last night and have just taken another one. Slept for 10 hours bless dd, think she knows mummy's not quite right. Breating easier but not what it was before but now have swollen glands and a sore throat hurrah . But compared to wednesday night I feel like a new person.
