Very snotty, coughy and a bit sicky 17 month old - advice?

The only messages i post on here always make me look a bit paranoid - but baby has had cold and cough over the weekend, sounded a bit wheezy at first, but now more rattle-ey. Generally a bit fractious, no temperature though. This afternoon, she was a bit sick. Feel really guilty as was out in garden negotiating house sale on phone, and found her in her cot having been sick. Has since seemed starving so has eaten toast and had bottle. Do you think its the cough that's making her sick - am paranoid about catching tummy bugs (I think morning sickness has something to do with that!)? Any advice?

She may be sick because she is bringing up phlegm. That's what happens with my DD.

Only advice I can offer is the usual for colds :

Paracetemol as per dosage on bottle
Plenty of fluids
Raise the end of the cot (I use chunky books)
Vapour rub on back and chest
Steam inhalation (wet towel over radiator in DD's room/hot tap running in bathroom with door shut/humidifier in DD's room)

Hope this helps xxx

My husband sucked the snot out of her nose once - and spent the next half hour retching!
