What stops diarrhoea in children?

2 & 3 yo's have had some vomiting but lots of diarrhoea for 4 days. They are drinking lots of water and although off their food they are eating small amounts of toast, crackers, pasta, rice etc. And they're not having milk.

GP says let it run it's course but I'm bored now! Liquid poo is so plentiful that it explodes out of night-nappies and I'm having to bath children in the middle of the night and wash endless bedlinen. And DH has gone off to Wales for a few days so I'm very hacked off!!! Is there a magic button?

i read on here that someone said that carrot soup is ment to be fab and clears it up in 24 hours

CorpseBride · 04/10/2006 12:13

They've pretty much been on BRAT diet without the A without much success. Maybe it's just an usually horrid bug and we will just have to wait.

Carrot soup sounds interesting but I'm not sure they'd eat it. I'll do stewed apple for pudding later.

Thanks everyone.

It is boring but the bugs need to come out and not be kept in.
Sorry but my advice is dont try to stop it, let it explode as it needs to
