mole worry , so scared please can anyone help x

hi , im up in bits as i have a mole thats changed , i only noticed this mole about 6 weeks ago down my side just on the bra line , i noticed feeling it in shower , on closer look it all looked ok, pale in colour round and smooth ...
iv been keeping an eye on it all has been ok , until now ....just last night i felt was a little rough , so i looked and its started to lift on the edges as if its coming off i looked and gently supposed poked a bit thinking was coming off like a scab on almost all the way round , now its bleeding a little , im terrified its SC i will call docs first thing without fail obviously but , im hoping its either a wart type thing or if a mole iv agrevated it by my bra rubbing maybe ...
its not itchy or red or black or mulitcoloured ....

can anyone calm me ?down any possotive advice ....?
im so worried in tears here as i type , suffer with health anxiety but was feeling calmer till this .....

I have a mole on my left arm. It sits just under where t shirt sleeves end. I do a fair bit of sport so I wear a lot of T shirts and the mole gets aggravated sometimes. I imagine this will be the sane, but worse, with a bra band.

But see your GP ASAP.

If it's pale it could easily be a skin tag. I had one on my bra line and was totally convinced it was a new mole. Gp froze it off

thanks , im just in bits with worry , i did think when i first saw it was a tag as i have a few on my armpit , this if further down the side by the strap that goes round the chest so i dont know , trying to keep an open mind but it is hard ...

Sounds like it's exactly where mine was. Definitely get it checked but the chances are that it's harmless

I have one just like this, have had it checked out and all is OK. I went back to double check, but some moles do this - ie develop a scab covering. As long as it isn't growing rapidly, becoming lumpy in shape and looking angry, then they are likely to be able to reassure you. I wasn't referred to a specialist, but had it checked anyway when I had to have a separate matter dealt with by a specialist.

Well done for spotting it and getting it checked. That is the most important thing. Remember in Australia now, they advise that everyone - 100% of the population - will have skin cancer at some time, but spotting it and treating it quickly means that it is manageable.

It could be seborrheic keratosis - quite harmless, and very common as you get older. I'm 67 and have many of these all over my torso, and in particular where my bra straps rub. They are scaly patches like scabs, and can be picked off (sometimes!) I'm sure your GP will be able to allay your fears, so try not to worry.

firstly i went to doctors for an emergancy appointment as couldnt t book one for today none left , next bookable one on the 11th Nov ...so cant wait that long...

cant choose who you get , totally get that but was dreading seeing one of the doctors there a male one iv had in past never very sympathetic ...
needless to say i then got him , but i went in with an open mind ...
that was trashed , he was awful to me , i sat down told him my concern , he looked at it and said thats fine , i then said oh ok good , so its nothing to worry about ? he then said "no i just said so didnt i " i then said oh ok only i suffer with health anxiety and got myself in a state but if your sure , he then snapped back and said " i couldnt be more clearer i said no " he was so rude , i then said ok so what if it it continues to bleed or change ? he said "just stick a plaster on it "
how bad was that ... so i left in tears ...and in shock and was made to feel a fool ....
not happy with that i then decided to get another appointment to see another doctor that morning , so waited a further 2 hours ...
but so glad i did ....she was lovely looked at it closely and listened to me , said was prob where my bra had rubbed , and is 99. % sure it is ok but as a precaution is going to remove tomorrow for me and send off , also i will prob keep catching it ...she was lovely .

so im a little calmer , but cant help but worry still till i get the all clear but iv done all i can to sort it out ... so just got to go with it ...and not let my mind wonder ...

as for the other doctor im considering writing a complaint , not in my nature but i do feel i should .

Oh ball, sorry you had a bad experience with that a**ehole of a GP. Obviously got out of bed on the wrong side this morning, but that's no excuse for his attitude. Glad you saw the nice GP, too, and I'm sure there is NOTHING to worry about, but you won't be happy until you get the results

He def had some people skill issues thats for sure !! in a profession of care and ultimately helping people he showed me neither of those things ...

now things are sinking in im a little anxious about it being removed and the long wait for results ...

but guess this is normal to feel like this ...just hope all comes back ok .x

DD had a large crusty mole develop on her forehead near her hairline.
I 'd had a black melanoma caught just in time some years earlier so we were worried despite hers being pinky/whitish.
It suddenly dropped off one day leaving healthy skin underneath.

I am disgusted at the male GP's manner with you.
I am sure your mole is harmless.

mine did /does look like part going to come off , its skin colour and slightly raised like a skin tag/ mole smoth , but just noticed over weekend slight dryness , then went shopping trying on and off clothes maybe my bra was rubbing and caught it ... as a matter of hours looked like a scab coming away and when i then pickedit a bit well poked a bit started to bleed a little ,(wasnt bleeding before i had a go ) so im hoping was the case iv rubbed it with bra and then poked it ad made it bleed a tiny bit ...

anyway coming off tomorrow so that is good ..
then i will wait ...
and yes im going in with a letter of complaint for the practice manager to see as im still upset just thinking about it all

I've said it before to you and I'll say it again - this is NOTHING to do with your mole and EVERYTHING to do with the fact you have health anxiety. Your doctor snapped because A he's a bit insensible and rude and B because there is literally NO reassuring someone who suffers from HA. You know this. You'll feel reassured for a day or two and then it'll all flood back

It's a form of OCD and it's shit but stop focussing on ailments that absolutely aren't going to finish you off anytime soon and see the doctor about the real issue- your HA. Honestly - this will go on for all of your days until you start taking steps to sort it out

It sounds as if your first doctor was rather sharp with you, and that he missed the point too. He should have been telling you not to worry about the mole, but also focusing on how he could help you to feel less anxious.

When you go back to see your lovely second doctor, please do ask her whether she can also recommend talking therapy, or medication to help you cope when you feel so anxious. Doctors can do a lot to help relieve physical problems, but issues will continue to arise through life which are worrying or frightening. Your nice GP should be able to recommend ways in which they can help you be less afraid and more in control of your anxiety
