Anyone else with GERD/acid reflux

I have suffered with acid reflux for a number of years, although it does come and go. There is no obvious reason - I am very slim, don't drink too much, etc. A year ago I had an endoscopy to rule out anything sinister and was prescribed anti-acid medication. I didn't take the medication as things seemed to get better.

However, in recent weeks it seems to have come back quite badly and it seems to be causing me pain in all different parts of the chest and abdominal area. Will go back to GP for new prescription, but wondered if anyone else gets this?

Yes, so I was prescribed Omeprazole to deal with it. It took a while for it to work, but I am fine now.

You risk causing permanent damage to your oesophagus by not taking medication so please go back to your doctor for prescription.

Yes, I will bunbaker. I think I was hoping I could do without medication...

The pain is not nice.

Acid reflux is not something to ignore ,you need to take the meds .

I put up with acid reflux for years ,thought it was one of those things /just indigestion .

Now I have an oesphageous fashioned out of my stomach .
So treat it seriously .

OH has had surgery on his oesophagus as well because he ignored reflux. It was weeks before he could eat again.
