Broken big toe after 6 months.

In May my son tripped me over and I think my I broke my big Toe, or the first bone in my foot. I felt it snap but beyond that it didn't hurt much, didn't swell and there was no bruising. I limped for a couple of hours and then after that it only hurt if I bend it or catch it. The problem is that we're now 6 months after the event and it still feels broken.. Not painful all the time but twinges in a specific point if I knock it.

I know there's not a lot that can be done with broken toes so I didn't go and see a Dr and then I read that sometimes big toe need a cast to heal and I out off going because I was going on holidays and didn't want to wear a cast Blush

Anyone had anything similar?

Will it heal eventually?

It is probably a wait & heal & it also might need to be pinned. Doing right thing going....

Sounds very uncomfortable but I'd be surprised if you'd broken it as you say it wasn't really painful afterwards. When I broke mine I couldn't walk properly for several weeks and was on heavy duty painkillers for the first few days! I wonder whether you did something to the joint or the muscles instead? Worth getting it checked out!

I think I felt it break and occasionally now it kind of crunches. I have a fairly high pain threshold so I've just put it off but now I'm startling to wear heels again as opposed to loafers I'm feeling it!

I hope it doesn't need to be pinned Shock
